adventures

58 years of thank yous/gratitude

dreaming of topics

which topics would you like to discuss?

here and now

at this moment it is time for a snack and the heart meds and some sleepy tea and the bed. i write from iowa city which is exactly a thousand miles west of the gw bridge. which is to say i am still in the same lattitude it's only the longitude that has changed. and i have the same attitude too. and you? hope you are in a good l/attitude.....

survivors

that put an XX here questionairre that michele sent out had survivors on it and i wrote OF WHAT. the word is used for many things: holocaust, sexual abuse.....cancer. heart disease. if we are alive we are all survivors, yes? i am, of: duck and cover, the war on drugs, the sexual revolution, the mccarthy era (which one rad farmer out here calls the truman era)(and note this is not in cronological order). my crazy family. a little heart disease. i mean a big heart with a little disease. measles, mumps, chickenpox, heartbreak, cat bites; sleeping in a hammock within hearing range of the contras shooting the sandanistas on the nicaragua/honduras border. the pull of the tides in the atlantic ocean and the pull of the chanel of the missouri river. hitchhiking alone. angels watched over me as i talked my way out of trouble. glory be! that i learned to talk before i had teeth. i am still talking. i love to talk and to listen. stories R us. i am the same as ever except i picked myself up by my bootstrap and put my foot in my mouth. it was quite a stretch but i felt that it was my responsibility to overcome the pain of shyness. hey enough about me! what's up with yo?

ANGEL OF THE MORNING by....uh, my husband says well we could look it up on google if you want but i just want him to make the pile of dirty dishes in the sink LOWER!! anybody out there remember
-----who wrote the song or
----who had the romance?

i know who the girl was but i'm not telling now....

looking at colleges

risa and i almost lost kathy henke in the public transit system of philadelphia. then we almost set my cousin's apartment on fire....

disorganized social activites

well, uh, this could go anywhere...

organized social activites

proms, mixers, dates. i hated them all! but actually i LOVED being on the junior prom planning committee and there being ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION about my NOT going because it was the same day as my (2nd of 2) kid brother's bar mitzvah. yay, bro! and now he is all growed up and has just made an award winning documentary, cash crop the movie. check it out! you can see trailers, or set up a showing near you. he uses a pseudonym but he IS my bro!

introduction

this is a space for classmates to share reflections and thoughts on ehs69, k-12, before and after that, etc. the"person' lightly monitoring this is e (aka "earl) chester, e chester69@gmail.com.
he is a pseudonym. i am actually rebecca rosenbaum. anyone can respond to posts. pls write
echester69@gmail.com if you want to be one of the 100 people who can post to this. it's first come first served. my husband is helping me with this. i took typing at ehs but i am actually at a fairly low level in computerland. the rules are: admit who you are, be nice. kind of anarchistic but c'est moi. this blog idea was born out of the invite to the reunion. the inside of my head is going ping! pong! boinga boinga with so many memories that i want to share and i am interested in your (that's the whole lotta ya) feedback on my thoughts.

all posts are c. the writer. if anyone wants to quote anyone else ya gotta ask the writer. sounds fair?

i'm gonna run thru my kindof sleepy mind and post a few labels/or a shell of a post so the 100+ NOT YET REVEALED potentially interested parties can have something to which to respond.

happy summer, everyone, and hope to see you in october! ciao and meow,
